HideTheAI Install for Chrome

Hide the AI.
Block the slop.

HideTheAI rewrites Google Search to reduce AI Overviews, filters AI-generated articles and images, and puts human-made content first.

Open source. No account needed, no tracking.

What gets hidden

Six ways to stop the slop. Search mode, site filtering, and result categories. Choose what you want to block.

01

AI Overviews

Runs in Web mode or appends -ai to your search, reducing the likelihood that Google shows an AI summary.

02

Generated stock media

On Pixabay, Adobe Stock, Freepik, ArtStation and more, AI-labelled images, video and music are filtered out, so you download work made by a person.

03

Slop factories

More than 1,100 sites associated with AI-generated imagery, plus HideTheAI's curated generators.

  • suno.com
  • udio.com
  • klingai.com
  • higgsfield.ai
04

AI-generated article farms

A reviewed blocklist keeps known bot-written blogs and content mills out of Google results.

  • globalvillagespace.com
  • irelandtopnews.com
  • dailytimeupdate.com
05

Artist-replacement tools

Companies selling themselves as a substitute for a real creative.

  • midjourney.com
  • landr.com
  • ariamastering.com
  • jasper.ai
  • copy.ai
06

AI company pages

Keeps blogs, launches and marketing pages from firms like OpenAI, ChatGPT and Anthropic out of your results.

Three ways to search

Pick how aggressively Google gets rewritten. Change it any time from the toolbar.

  1. Normal Google, minus AI

Keeps every familiar Google module and appends -ai to the query. Usually hides most AI Overviews.

  2. Classic Web

Forces udm=14 for the plain ten-links view. The most reliable way to never see an overview again.

  3. Filtered (block AI sites)

Leaves the search alone and only hides blocklisted sites. For when you want Google as-is, minus the slop.

Found slop we missed?

The blocklist is curated by hand, on purpose. Send a site and a real person reviews it. Nothing gets added to the blocklist automatically, and nothing you type is sent until you submit the form.

  • Slop farms and generated-media sites
  • Tools that replace human artists and writers
  • AI-generated blogs and content mills
